Life modelling is a physical job, as well as a craft - it's not just about sitting still.
The life model is the starting point and inspiration for the artist he
or she poses for - and it helps if you can challenge with some improvisation on the poses to push the boundaries.
Some people may wish to model just for the money but it does require slightly
more than simply a mercenary attitude, as others find it a creative outlet and an opportunity to become involved in the artistic
process. It can also be a highly sensual buzz to be naked and in control of your body.
You have to be secure in yourself. It does require a certain amount of discipline and an ability to sit/stand/recline
still without too much fidgeting. In some poses, it's ideal if you are able to invent a variety of posture variations to help
develop the end result.
Most
people find it extremely liberating however, and you'll also learn a lot about yourself, your body, the creative process and
the discipline required.
Genuinely interested people only, no seedy or curious timewasters. Male and female, aged between 18 and 60, high
standard of personal hygiene is essential.
The sessions will take place in a
relaxing environment in the west end area of Glasgow, so please ensure that travelling costs aren't prohibitive for you. Fee
in cash per hour or part of an hour. Some daytimes by arrangement, evenings from 7pm or weekend afternoon/evenings.
